HEURIS and Terran Interactive
Announce
Joint Development Efforts Utilizing Apples
QuickTime 3 Encoding Architecture
HEURIS MPEG Power
Professional software now accessible
via menu in Terran Interactives Media Cleaner software
NAB, Las Vegas, Nevada, April 5,
1998 HEURIS, a leading provider of MPEG encoding solutions for professional
digital video applications, and Terran Interactive, a leading provider of video
preprocessing, filtering and compression tools, today announced support for Apples
QuickTime 3 Encoding Architecture. This export component, developed by Apple as an
extension to the QuickTime environment, allows different software packages to be linked
together via a single, common dialog format. The QuickTime 3 Encoding Architecture is
available as part of the QuickTime 3 release. HEURIS MPEG Power Professional
Software and Terran Interactives Media Cleaner Pro software will both
support the Encoding Architecture. Support for the QuickTime 3 Encoding Architecture
allows MPEG Power Professional to be accessed via a menu in Terran Interactives
Media Cleaner software.
"It is important that our users are able to access our
software in a variety of ways," says Brian Roy, Director of Software Development for
HEURIS. "If our users want access to MPEG Power Professionals preprocessing and
filtering, they can access the software directly. But if they wish to use Terrans
Media Cleaner as a front end, they can simply click a special HEURIS MPEG menu
option within that software. Either way, users have access to HEURIS powerful, high
quality MPEG encoding engine."
"This is a great opportunity for users of our
software," says Dana LoPiccolo Giles, President of Terran Interactive. "Our
users will be able to access an award winning MPEG encoding package without having to
learn a whole new interface. This is really a win-win situation for multimedia
developers."
"We are very excited about this new opportunity,"
says Brian Quandt, President of HEURIS. "Terran Interactive and HEURIS each have
great strengths in what they bring to their users. The use of the Encoding Architecture
allows us to bring a stronger combined package to the end user with minimal effort and
expense."
