Hitachi Denshi America, Ltd to Sell HEURIS’ DVD ConnexIT Software

Hitachi Denshi America, Ltd Tests and Qualifies DVD ConnexIT  for Use with NEW Professional DVD-RAM Camera and Recorder.

November 13, 2002, St. Louis, MO: HEURIS, makers of the most widely used MPEG encoding software, today announced a new relationship with Hitachi Denshi America’s Broadcast and Professional Group. Hitachi Denshi recently evaluated HEURIS’ newest software plug-in, DVD ConnexIT, for compatibility with their new one-piece, three CCD DVD-RAM camcorder model Z-3000/ CR-D10. . After careful consideration of the plug-in, Hitachi Denshi has agreed to sell HEURIS’ DVD ConnexIT to their customers.

HEURIS’ DVD ConnexIT plug-in allows DVD-RAM material to be read and ultimately edited by professional editing systems such as Adobe Premiere. This provides important functionality to professionals using DVD-RAM cameras and recorders. With DVD ConnexIT, users can simply shoot or record directly to a DVD-RAM disc, edit the materials via the same DVD-RAM disc inserted into a computer and view the finished product all without lengthy video transfers, digitizing and irritating cables or hassles. With DVD ConnexIT, the DVD-RAM materials simply show up in the fully featured editing system (such as Adobe Premiere) as a simple media type. Users can edit instantly in a familiar editing environment with virtually no learning curve.

Hitachi Denshi’s new DVD-RAM camcorder records directly to DVD-RAM discs. Both HEURIS and Hitachi Denshi see extensive opportunities for HEURIS’ DVD ConnexIT software and Hitachi’s hardware to be used particularly in rapid acquisition environments such as television newsgathering.

"HEURIS’ DVD ConnexIT is the glue that connects our revolutionary tape-free technology with the existing professional non-linear editing environment," said Emilio Aleman, Product Manager Broadcast and Professional, Hitachi Denshi America, Ltd. "The many advantages and features of DVD-RAM disc recording technology can now be fully exploited by the use of the DVD ConnexIT program, a popular Non-Linear Editing suite and the NEW Z-3000/CR-D10 camcorder. This creates a very simple and sensible workflow for anybody who needs to gather material and edit quickly."

"The initial model for our DVD ConnexIT software was very simply shoot, edit, view," said Brian Quandt. "Hitachi Denshi’s tests have proven that this streamlined workflow is not only functional, but also extremely fast and practical. I see this as a sure winner for users in the news acquisition and live events marketplace."

Pricing and Availability

DVD ConnexIT is available for purchase from the HEURIS online catalog.
