November 20, 2002, St. Louis, Missouri: HEURIS announced today that the latest update of their flagship product, MPEG Power Professional 2.5 will support ACCOM’s popular uncompressed multi-definition Digital Disk Recorder (DDR), WSD®/HDi. This new support allows users to encode High Definition video directly from the WSD/HDi in MPEG Power Professional 2.5 without any additional format conversion. This new streamlined workflow eliminates the need to move out of the YUV colorspace, thus saving time and disc space and improving image quality.

"Post production companies are using the WSD/HDi as an inexpensive means to hold file based content for encoding with MPEG Power Professional. The WSD/HDi is capable of recording and playing back all of the popular high-definition video formats as well as standard definition 525/625. In addition, it offers precise frame accurate control of video tape recorders for reliable capture of content video and multi-channel audio, which is extremely important to professionals. To achieve the highest quality images, all of the source content is captured uncompressed into the WSD/HDi, stored and then accessible to the HEURIS MPEG Power Professional software.
